Editing Challenge | Wolfgang Zurborn vs Frederic Lezmi

In this Zoom talk, Frederic Lezmi and Wolfgang Zurborn will present their book designs featuring the works of Jana Margarete Schuler from the series ‘Zwischen Blut und Glitzer’ and discuss the results with the photographer and the audience. The photobook experts will explain, step by step, how they arrived at their edits for the publication, in order to make the process of book design – with all its questions regarding content and form – easy to follow. In all of the DFA’s previous Editing Challenges, it has already been described very clearly just how much the way we read photographic images depends on their arrangement within a book, and how differently our perception of the world around us can vary as a result.

Open Call - Portfolio Presentation

The German Photographic Academy, in collaboration with the Friends of the Haus der Photographie, is organising a portfolio presentation. This will take place as part of the German Photographic Academy’s winter conference (5–6 December). Through this format, we are giving emerging artists the opportunity to present their artistic photographic work to a professional audience and to engage in person with experts from both the theoretical and practical fields.
