DFA-Podcast #5 | Nepal Special: The Skin of Chitwan
Mannheim
On the occasion of the Biennale of Contemporary Photography, DFA dedicates this podcast to the Nepal Picture Library's project "The Skin of Chitwan" exhibited there.
Photographer and historian Christoph Linzbach discusses with DFA archivist Corinna Weidner the strategies pursued by this project and the importance of visual storytelling as a means of interpretive sovereignty. The narratives that archives collaborate on are thereby also placed in relation to the handling of photo archives from the colonial era and the current work at the DFA archive.
"The Skin of Chitwan" is on view through May as part of the Biennial section "Narratives of Resistance" at the rem Museum Weltkulturen: https://biennalefotografie.de
And in the long term also online at: http://skinofchitwan.nepalpicturelibrary.org
