DFA-Podcast #4

Ukraine Special: War and Photography

Andreas Langen, Nikita Teryoshin, Robin Hintsch: Each of these DFA photographers deals with the war in Ukraine. They are eyewitnesses, documentarians, interpreters, commentators, image finders.

In this podcast, Corinna Weidner talks to Andreas Langen about his experiences on the Maidan in 2014 and how his Ukrainian colleague Alexandr Glyadyelov is currently working in Kiev. Nikita Teryoshin tells us why he burned his Russian passport and how the iconic photo of this action "Not in my name" is circulating.

And Robin Hinsch has also been photographing for many years in Ukraine, where he is currently staying. We were not able to speak to him personally there, but we talk about his very recent images at the intersection of document and art.
