DFA-Podcast #6 | Annelise Kretschmer. A photographer (also) of the 1920s.
Münster
She was a protagonist of the "New Vision" and herself a representative of the "New Woman", the modern, professional type of woman of the 1920s. At the age of only 23, Annelise Silberbach was appointed a member of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Lichtbildner (GDL) (Society of German Photographers) in 1926, having been nominated for membership by Franz Fiedler, with whom she was a master student.
The LWL Museum für Kunst und Kultur in Münster is now showing the long-standing work of Dortmund photographer Annelise Kretschmer-Silberbach in the large exhibition "The Moment".
In the Archive Podcast, Corinna Weidner talks to Anna-Luisa Walter and Stephan Sagurna from the LWL Museum für Kunst und Kultur about the order in the photographer's estate, the search for contemporary witnesses, Kretschmer's early bromoil prints and her versatile photographic art, as well as the repressions she experienced under National Socialism.
Exhibition until 14.08.2022 at the LWL Museum für Kunst und Kultur, Münster.
