Düsseldorf photographer and DFA member Andreas Gefeller creates eye candy with a double bottom. Gefeller takes his motifs from reality, but gives them a surreal twist through photographic techniques. "Nothing is what it seems," says the artist, "there are always other ways of seeing the world."
Andreas Langen talks to Gefeller about, among other things, his photo series "Supervisions", "Soma" and "Clouds", his relationship to the mechanisation of the world and whether the size and accuracy of the images are perhaps also an invitation to meditation.
