Peter Thomann | The representation of movement and the capture of decisive moments (1977 - 2005)

Here I used a simple camera (Lomo), which records a motion sequence within 1 sec. on a negative. During the exposure time, a pinhole rotates in front of the film plane and shows the motive time-shifted, in 4 pictures of 1/25 sec. each on the 35mm negative. 1 Marching men by Bruce Naumann at the Hamburger Kunsthalle, 1997 2 Seagulls approaching, 2005 3 Visitors in the Titanic exhibition 1989, Hamburg 4 Golf Stroboscope Study, 1977 5 Arabesque jump 6 Horse Power 7 Mare with foal 5-7 are examples of capturing the decisive moment at the height of the movement.

June 1990 at the Metropole Palace Hotel in Monte Carlo; In an Auction, 80 Pieces of the Berlin Wall were sold for 2.1 Million DM. The Bitter came from Europe and Overseas. I was interested to know where the Wall will find a new Location. I made Appointments and took photographs around the World: from Cape Ferrat to Paris, New York, Seattle, Phönix Arizona, Mexico City, bis Las Vegas, curiously, at the men's washroom from Main Street Station Casino. Stern Magazine published my Photo Story over 16 Pages.
